Hubbell Bubble toil and trouble

IMGP1043.jpg

This is the infamous Hunterston Bubble.

It is the cooling outflow from Hunterston Power station. The bubble is approx. 60 - 100 cm high although this depends on the state of the tide, it creates a circular stopper, we have tried on many occasions in different conditions to get on top of this feature and no one i know has ever made it.

I have a friend who advises going no where near the outflow, due to the water content, make up your own minds it is worth a look and the water round about gets pretty warm.

Regardless of how good you are i would not advise paddling on this feature.
