first turning strokes?

jess%20cross%20bow%20r.jpg

What is the first turning stroke you were taught or teach?

This is my daughter Jessica her first turning stroke was a cross bow rudder, is this good or bad?

I think its good, why i hear you ask well the cross bow rudder is more than a turning stroke its a dynamic movement that if coached properly has elements of everything else you will ever do in your kayak.

More to come.

Richard,

I enjoyed immensely this post for three reasons:

1) Your daughter is a beauty. Perfect face.
2) I am now considering the Newt for my 11-year-old daugther, if I can arrange the logistics of it.
3) I enjoy the cross bow rudder.
